MEGAFANS: 2018 in Review Plus Quarter 1, 2019 Projections, Fundraising Results, and Series A Invitation!

On the Mobile Games Alpha blog I discuss topical subjects unfolding in the world of Mobile Games and eSports, this includes my personal journey as the co-founder of MEGAFANS. MEGAFANS is a competitive mobile gaming platform that’s disrupting eSports by introducing experiential tournaments exclusively for mobile gaming. Our mission is to attract quality game developers, top-tier sponsors and advertisers, and a more diverse pool of skilled gamers by providing better experiences and best-in-class technology for all who engage our platform.

Seed and Series A Fund Raising

Let me publicly express a heartfelt thank you and deep gratitude to all of our investors who believe in the MEGAFANS mission. With your assistance our team successfully met our seed round goal of raising $250,000. MEGAFANS supporters are already geared up to participate in our Series A round, putting us in an excellent position to fully compete in a $143 billion global gaming market in 2019.

For Series A, MEGAFANS’ valuation is $20 million and we are raising $1.9 million in exchange for a 10% equity stake in our startup. For stake holders, we project a 10x return in four years. MEGAFANS’ Accomplishments to Date

30 Days of MEGAFANS mobile game installs, Jan – Feb 2019.

So far we have achieved:

  • 150,000 total installs of our gaming apps
  • Published 18 games across iOS and Android
  • We’re ready to beta test our first real tournament in March, 2019
  • Registered players who purchase our Tournaments Edition game of skill are set up to win FIAT currencies
  • Winners have a dedicated portal where they can cash out via PayPal
  • Soon cash out will also be available via a secure, scalable, and carefully chosen Cryptocurrency partner
  • Developers are now able to imbed our SDK (software development kit) into their own mobile games to provide the same tournament experience we offer through MEGAFANS
  • With only a small sliver (2%) of the combined gamer and developer markets our total valuation is projected to be $1 billion in revenue by 2022

Strategic Partnerships and Best-in-class Technology

From concept, our goal has been to be best-in-class, combining technology and industry experience with team members from some of the premier brands in content and entertainment. Just a few of these include: Amex, Disney, Reward Mob, Nixon, Draft Kings. And game titles with which we have partnered are: World of Tanks, GTA, Halo, COD, Panda Pop and developers including Ubisoft.

We are also in the process of building strategic partnerships with international developer studios who are integrating our SDK into their own applications. These partnerships include:

  • An Indian mobile gaming company with a million monthly users
  • A Korean mobile gaming company with 30 games and 4-6 million users
  • A US-based company that has games embedded on home screens with millions of subscribers via mobile phone carrier networks in LatAm, Asia and EMEA

…as well other Tier 1-2 mobile gaming companies that have approached us.

A great team is the secret sauce to any startup’s success, and at MEGAFANS we’ve definitely been picky. Our team boasts a collection of professionals with a combined 50+ years of experience in eGaming, mobile gaming, iGaming, Fintech, marketing and eSports, and they come from top-tier brands like Activision, Rock Star Games, Microsoft and Disney just to name a few.

Here is a call out of some of our newest team members and what they’ve helped us achieve over the past year:

Chang Lee / Product and Development

Beginning with MEGAFANS’ Product and Development Department, Chang Lee has been an invaluable asset, consistently delivering our prototypes on time for beta testing and continued development.

Chang is responsible for developing the gamer and developer portals of the MEGAFANS platform as well as our embeddable SDK. Chang is instrumental in our second phase of development as we get our platform ready for our global open beta roll out, scheduled to launch in March, 2019.

Scott Ward / Business Development

Scott Ward, MEGAFANS’ Director of Business Development has proven to be truly gifted at hunting down and securing lucrative partnerships in game development and publishing.

Currently, Scott and I are engaged in direct marketing strategies to promote MEGAFANS’ tournament pre-launch, and to attract partnerships and venture capital investors. Scott’s intimate knowledge of the gaming industry and start up environments is proving to be broadly useful across on-boarding game developers and games publishers to event and community management.

Monika Verma / User Acquisition

Monika Verma is a master at cost-effectively and efficiently acquiring new users for MEGAFANS well within budget.

Between quarter Monika Q4 2017 – Q1 2018 successfully conducted multiple user acquisition tests that gained MEGAFANS’ 30,000+ installs for two games at a global blended rate of <$0.50 cost per install (CPI).

As of 2019, Monika has begun testing a fresh user acquisition campaign for MEGAFANS’ newly integrated Tournament Editions of the same games, establishing the second phase of closed beta A/B testing on schedule. This test campaign has already produced 92k+ installs between January 6 – February 18, 2019 at a rate of <$0.20 CPI!

Sequoia Brown / Content Marketing Advisor

Sequoia Brown, MEGAFANS’ Content Marketing Advisor from FunnelAmp.com has used her 15+ years experience in web development and online marketing to help introduce both myself and MEGAFANS to a broader audience in mobile gaming and eSports.

Following a quality-focused approach to PR and marketing, Sequoia has developed the Mobile Games Alpha blog website, acts as chief editor ensuring all content is SEO perfect, and disseminates MGA articles across key social media platforms like LinkedIn, Angel.co, CrunchBase and Medium. Sequoia also manages a monthly back link building campaign for Mobile Games Alpha and works to line up speaking opportunities for me like our planned April engagement with the Cleveland Institute of Art’s Game Design department.
